Before starting Christmas Break, Sasakwa Public Schools hosted an archery tournament. The tournament was spread out over a few days and both Konawa and Bowlegs had students compete. Around 80 students total picked up a bow and tried to shoot their best. Each team competed for a high team score in hopes of qualifying for the state tournament. The top 12 individual scores from each team are submitted.

Sasakwa Public Schools has had an archery program through the Oklahoma National Archery in the Schools Program (OKNASP) for the past four years. The program is designed for 4th-12th graders. All of the Sasakwa teams (elementary, junior high and high school) have gone to the state tournament the past few years and have done well. The 2017 OKNASP State Shoot Tournament is scheduled for February 15th & 16th at the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City. The Sasakwa teams are hoping to compete against other schools at the state level once again.
